The general maintainance of a heterogeneous unix networked environment is a mighty task.
When the variables are added that one must install, configure, network, and secure a selection of RedHat Linux machines in both Lab and Server environments, as well as a main Solaris server and perhaps a FreeBSD machine or two - one is quickly overwhelmed.
This document is meant to be a collection of configs, scripts, setup ideas and generally an overview of the tasks involved with setting such an environment up.
In no way is this document complete - and in no way will it be all entirely accurate, it is meant to be used as a manual or guide, as a cheat sheet when you get lost, and mainly - it's meant to remind the author of the time that was put into these systems.
Undoubtably you will find errors herein, be they spelling mistakes or configuration issues.
You may have questions relating to the content or you may have a better way of doing things.
If so, I would like to hear it! I cannot in any way guarantee I will have time to update or fix anything, however - but please email me at the following address if you would like to contact me.
