All distribution sites will have a list of mirrors, and you can get the distribution from their FTP sites.
The best way to get Linux is to download the ISO's and burn them.
If a friend has ISO's burned already, you can use those.
At the time of writing this (August 27, 2002) You should be getting Redhat version 7.3
